Victorian Papier Mache Tray With Brass Handle

A beautiful 19th century papier mache tray with handle. Great for use as a fruit or bread tray. These trays are all handmade. Due to their somewhat flimsy nature (not being made or wood or metal) they weren't expected to last long so finding these in tact is quite rare. Details: This tray a lovely mother of pearl/painted flower motif in the center, surrounded by a mosaic scalloped design. Condition: As with many Victorian papier mache pieces this one has survived but is in good to fair condition for its age. Much of the painted on flowers have been rubbed off. Pieces of mother of pearl are missing throughout. The tray has a small piece missing from its edge and a repair to the edge as well. Dimensions: 11" across and 6" tall with handle
